Almo Nature cat food – review, reviews, recommendations

“Almo Nature” is European-made cat food with a wide range of products of varying quality. In general, there are no questions for the manufacturer: the food is not bad, especially the canned food, which receives a lot of praise. The people who really raise questions are the people promoting Almo Nature on the Russian market.

Firstly, there are cases when the Russian translation of the composition did not coincide with what was written on the packaging by the manufacturer: through the translator’s willpower, the quality of the ingredients slightly improved. Perhaps this was a one-time accident, but because of such accidents, distrust in the brand appears.

Secondly, for some reason the official Russian-language website has chosen a policy of significant omissions. In the description of the composition, vague formulations such as “vegetable pulp” (which ones exactly?), “vitamins and minerals” (for example?), mysterious “flakes” appear every now and then... The list of ingredients of a good food should be precise and clear.

Despite such misunderstandings, the quality of Almo Nature is not inferior to good super-premium food, although it does not reach the level of such reliable brands as Go Natural, Orijen or Innova.

Almo Nature concept – a special formula for cat nutrition

As a rule, if a food is classified as “holistic”, this means that it is completely balanced, contains everything you need and does not require any additives. You buy one package and you don’t need anything else, except to occasionally pamper your pet with some treat. , however, has developed its own concept of cat nutrition. It consists in ensuring that the cat’s daily diet consists of 60% wet food and 40% dry food, respectively, the composition of both is designed in such a way as to represent the ideal formula not individually, but collectively.

This approach is explained by the desire to reduce the load on the cats’ kidneys, increase fluid intake (in Almo Nature canned food there is from 20 to 30% broth), perhaps this is a good solution for cats that drink little water.

The concept is interesting, although controversial. Firstly, this is a new path and it may be very good, but before accepting it, you need to weigh everything carefully. Secondly, not all veterinarians agree that such a diet is beneficial for the cat's gastrointestinal tract. Much depends on the individual needs of the animal, so it is difficult to say whether this diet is suitable for your cat.

Opinions and reviews of veterinarians

Reviews from veterinarians regarding Almo nature cat food are mostly positive. They note that after introducing this food into the animal’s diet, the condition of its internal organs improves, the coat becomes more beautiful and silky, and its behavior is active. Many buyers who are owners of furry pets also agree with the veterinarians.

Most cats like this line of food, preferring the Green Label and Rouge Label categories.

Here are some owner reviews:

“I feed my cat only Green Label Almo Nature, we tried to diversify his diet with other brands, but Steven eats only Almo with the greatest appetite. We periodically visit the veterinary clinic, take control tests - everything is fine with us! Therefore, we will continue to eat!” Antonina, 32 years old, Moscow.

Dry food for cats and dogs. How to understand the composition, tips for choosing

“Our Marie loves canned fish, but we didn’t like chicken cans, so we always buy fish ones. Sometimes we also take a treat in the form of sausages - the cat eats them in one sitting. The fur is normal, does not fall out, does not curl, the teeth are also fine. I recommend." Natalia, 45, Vladivostok.

I would like to give Almo nature a holistic review: after reading the composition, I came to the conclusion that food of this class contains an insufficient amount of meat. Therefore, I think that people overpay for the inscription on the packaging. A different brand of food with the same composition will cost much less." Evgeniy, 38, Krasnodar

Rouge Label: a good hypoallergenic composition, you can use both “dried” and canned food

This is a food designed primarily for cats prone to food allergies. To this end, each food in the “red” line contains only one source of protein and fat (for example, only chicken or only duck). Only fresh meat is used without offal and bone meal (which is very good!). The composition also contains “hydrolyzed protein”; on the one hand, for better absorption and reducing the risk of allergies, hydrolyzed protein is suitable, but on the other hand... without indicating the source of the protein, it looks extremely suspicious. Rouge Label uses high-quality ingredients, but the composition of the food itself is quite modest, practically meat and fats + rice and potatoes. Vitamins are included in the composition, but their sources, again, are not disclosed.

Customer Reviews

Ola to everyone!) I hasten to introduce you to my new discovery (I know, I’m really slow))) I’m talking about food for adult cats called Natures Table. This is what dry food with turkey looks like:

And here’s what the manufacturer promises us: Nature’s Table – all the benefits of nature for your cat, so that she pleases you with health and beauty day after day! Well, Fima and I decided to check everything. I bought all the flavors: chicken, turkey, salmon. The chicken didn’t suit us, I don’t know why, but Fima ate without appetite, the turkey became a tramp.

Everything is written very beautifully at the back (by the way, I really liked the design): about proteins, fats, carbohydrates, about the benefits of the ingredients, about the composition, which is truly natural. The size of the granules is convenient: not large, not very small, crunchy, and do not emit any stench (well, you know what I mean).

By the way, Fima’s breath doesn’t smell either, and he has a very sensitive gastrointestinal tract to weird additives, so in principle I believe that there are no flavor enhancers or preservatives. Well, I won’t say anything about the taste of the food, of course)) But as a housewife, I will note that the drying bag is very convenient: a tight zip, stable, does not rustle annoyingly, does not fall off the shelf)) The smell does not dissipate).

By the way, the price for natural food is quite adequate))) There are 2 volumes - 190 g and 650 g, I take the second one - I don’t like to run around somewhere)) A small pack costs about a hundred, a larger one - about 300, sometimes on them discounts, then I come home hung with bags)))

In general, the food is good, we like it, Fima is cheerful and beautiful, eats with appetite)

I saw this dry food called NATURE'S TABLE in the supermarket. I decided to try it to understand what the food was like. The packaging is very beautiful and the manufacturer promises that everything here is natural! I bought a package weighing 650 grams. Cost 299 rubles. The composition of the food is more premium than economy class. The price for such food is not cheap!

I gave this food to the cats living in my boiler room for testing. They attacked him like they were not normal! I sniffed the food - the smell is very similar to dry Whiskas. The cats greedily swallowed the food and demanded more! They began to behave inappropriately. And then one cat vomited food.

It became obvious that aroma and taste enhancers were present. Otherwise cats wouldn't behave like that! Then I tried a couple of croquette food myself. And it turned out to be simply terrible! The food is so salty, like crackers for beer. This is the first time I encountered this! Cats shouldn't eat salt because it leads to kidney disease.

Orange Label: inferior to the previous category, dry food is borderline acceptable, wet food is slightly better

Food intended for castrated and overweight cats. In fact, judging by the composition, dry food in this category is intended for animals that their owners do not like. The quality of the ingredients is noticeably worse than in the “red” line, by-products have appeared, and the percentage of fresh meat is much lower. This is definitely not holistic anymore, rather the border between super-premium and premium. At the same time, Orange Label is only slightly inferior to the previous category in price. Wet food from the “orange” line is noticeably better than dry food, although it is also inferior to Rouge Label canned food.

This food is suitable for both long-haired and short-haired breeds

Italian-made food is suitable for neutered cats, but this product in dry form contains a large amount of carbohydrates.

Therefore, if your pet is prone to weight gain, dry food consumption should be limited, focusing on wet canned food with a high protein content.

A universal option for any cat, including those prone to allergies and gastrointestinal disorders, is the Rouge Label series, which was created specifically for cats that need special care.

Green Label: spiders with an excellent composition, you can safely take them

This category only includes treats and wet food. Green Label meals differ in their cooking method: raw meat is first packed into pouches and then cooked directly in them, so that all the nutrients remain in the broth. It is assumed that not a single cat can resist such a fragrant broth - which means you can be sure that your pet is consuming enough liquid. The meat used is fresh, of good quality, without artificial additives (Green Label focuses on environmental friendliness). Green Label treats are natural meat or fish with a little rice added - a safe and inexpensive way to occasionally treat your pet with something tasty.

Range

Almo Nature products are represented by a wide range, which includes dry food, canned food in jars, pouches, and cat treats. All this diversity is divided into 5 large categories. Since quality varies greatly depending on the category (from very good to unacceptable levels), understanding what's what is very important.

Green Label treats are natural meat or fish with a little rice added - a safe and inexpensive way to occasionally treat your pet with something tasty.

Azul Label: Wet food and treats are of much lower quality

Azul Label cannot stand comparison with the “green” line. The composition contains meat derivatives (offal, flour, etc.), yeast (an allergenic ingredient!), and a lot of fish, which is also not very good, since excess phosphorus is harmful to cats. True, some vegetables are added to the meat, but this does not save the situation.

Since the price of Azul Label and Green Label is almost the same, it is better to choose the green label.

Tradition: how Almo Nature began

Canned food legend, classic and jelly

Wet food of decent quality, meat and/or fish content - from 50 to 75%. Natural composition, absence of artificial colors, flavors, etc., large selection of flavors - all this speaks for itself.

Among the disadvantages: canned food is not additionally enriched with vitamins and minerals; the manufacturer relies exclusively on microelements that are originally contained in meat and fish. There is no certainty that such food can be considered completely balanced.

Dry food Holistic

Despite the name, this food is rather super-premium, and not of the highest level. The food is, of course, acceptable, but if there is an opportunity to find something better, take it. To a greater extent, this applies to food with beef, rabbit and tuna (composed of: animal fat, yeast; only 15-20% fresh meat, the rest is derivatives, i.e. bone meal and offal). Quite a high level of ash.

In terms of the quality of ingredients, it is inferior to the “drying” Rouge Label, but has a richer and more balanced composition.

Canned food in jars and pouches Daily Menu

Perhaps the worst of everything that Almo Nature produces is practically economy class. Very little meat, mainly by-products are used, contains corn gluten (an allergenic and harmful product). Better to avoid it.

Pros of Almo Nature

  • Convenient labeling of product lines of different quality using color labels. It’s easy to navigate the wide range (I remind you that the best are Rouge Label, Green Label, Legend, Classic).
  • A wide selection of dry goods, canned goods, and delicacies. Most often, canned food from Almo Nature receives high praise from cat owners.
  • No chemicals, dyes or artificial preservatives.
  • The company focuses on natural products and careful methods of preparing and preserving them.

Advantages and disadvantages

Almo Nature cat food, which can be purchased in the manufacturer’s official stores, has many advantages:

  • Huge range of products. To make it easier to navigate, convenient and clear markings are provided. Cat owners are offered a wide selection of dry and wet canned food.
  • No chemicals or dyes - completely natural composition. This is confirmed by reviews from veterinarians.
  • Special production technologies - the company subjects products to the minimum possible processing and uses gentle methods of preparing them to preserve nutrients.
  • Almo Nature food is suitable for all cat breeds, even hypoallergenic ones .
  • Dry food is fortified.

There are also certain disadvantages.

Among them, we can highlight the fact that the Italian manufacturer’s product range does not include ideal dry food with a large amount of meat in its composition.

Also a small drawback of the product is the fact that the composition can only be found on the packaging.

It is absolutely impossible to find out the exact amount of ingredients in a 400 gram bag of food on websites on the Internet.
