Cat food Cat Chow / Cat Chow: reviews from veterinarians and owners, composition

Purina is known to many of us through advertising. She specializes in the production of dry diets for animals: not only cats, but also dogs. The bright packaging assures you that this is a premium quality food. Also, the advertisement suggests conducting an experiment: monitoring the health and appearance of the animal. They promise that 21 days after changing the diet to Cat Chow, your pet’s well-being will noticeably improve and most problems will disappear. But does a bright wrapper always mean a quality product? Let's figure it out.

Cat food Cat Chow

One of the popular products is considered to be wet and dry cat food “Cat Chow”. The food product contains meat plant components, microelements and vitamins that are vital for the normal existence of the pet. Food has several varieties. Before introducing food into a pet’s diet, the owner should familiarize himself in detail with the composition, daily intake for the cat, and also know the pros and cons of the product.

Veterinarian E. Pavlovskaya warns that Cat Chow can cause indigestion and flatulence.

Veterinarian recommendations

Ideally, when preparing a diet for a pet, you should first consult a doctor. Veterinary doctors readily recommend TM Pro Plan products for therapeutic purposes, prescribing one or another product from a special therapeutic line. This choice is justified by the affordable price of special feed, proven effectiveness and good reviews.

As for daily feeding, it is worth understanding that Purina is not involved in the production of holistic products, so you should not expect an absolutely natural composition from a premium segment food. However, reviews from veterinarians are overwhelmingly positive, animals willingly eat balanced food (pouches and dry food), in comparison with the diet of the economy segment, Pro Plan is a good choice.

Features of the food

Today, the best option is “Cat Chow” from Purin Proplan. Initially, the food was produced only in the USA. Now the American company produces cat food in factories located in Hungary and Russia. It is worth noting that the manufacturer has divided its products into two categories. The buyer can purchase both standard food that is suitable for everyone, and those that are aimed exclusively at cats that require specific care.

How to apply it correctly?

The daily intake of “Cat Chow” for kittens is determined by age. For a 6-12 week old baby, 25-90 g is enough. For kittens from 3 months. you can give 50-115 g. Cat chow products

Cat food "Cat Chow" is a dry product, which is presented in two lines:

  • standard assortment - you can choose from it food for your cat, no matter what stage of life it is at;
  • food for animals that require special care - these products have been specially created for adult cats with specific health problems.

Standard range

  1. The first on the list is Cat Chow food for adult cats with chicken and turkey meat. This product contains vitamin E, which helps the animal's body maintain natural defenses, as well as vegetables that ensure normal digestion.

  2. The next product is also intended for feeding adult animals - this is “Cat Chow” food with rabbit meat and liver. Its meat component is 14% meat, 4% rabbit and 2% liver.
  3. The third in the standard assortment is “Cat Chow” food for kittens with chicken meat. This is a completely balanced product that allows the baby to develop normally. It can be introduced into the diet of kittens from three weeks of age. To make it easier for the animal to consume the dry product, a small amount of it should be soaked in water. As the pet gets used to it, the amount of water is reduced and the share of food is increased.

Assortment for special care needs

  1. Let's start this line with Cat Chow food, which prevents the formation of hairballs. This product has a special formula that is enriched with dietary fiber, which prevents the occurrence of hairballs in the animal's stomach and intestines.
  2. The second position belongs to the product, the use of which is beneficial for animals with a sensitive digestive tract. Its peculiarity is the presence of high-quality protein, which is easily and quickly digested, as well as an optimal balance of vitamins and fatty acids - Omega-3 and Omega-6.
  3. At the third stage is the product “Cat Chow” for castrated cats and cats after sterilization. The ideal ratio of proteins and fats allows you to maintain the animal’s optimal weight and keep its muscles in good shape, and these two conditions ensure a normal level of activity for the pet after spaying/castration.
  4. The following product will take care of the health of your pet's urinary system. This is achieved due to the presence of special minerals that not only support the health of the urinary tract, but also ensure an optimal urine pH level.
  5. The health line is completed by a new product – cat chow triple protection cat food. We can say that this product combines two existing foods - for the health of the urinary system and the control of hairballs, and exhibits an additional effect that is aimed at preventing plaque and tartar.

Cat Chow for cats: full review

Purina is known to many of us through advertising. She specializes in the production of dry diets for animals: not only cats, but also dogs. The bright packaging assures you that this is a premium quality food. Also, the advertisement suggests conducting an experiment: monitoring the health and appearance of the animal. They promise that 21 days after changing the diet to Cat Chow, your pet’s well-being will noticeably improve and most problems will disappear. But does a bright wrapper always mean a quality product? Let's figure it out.

Rules for organizing nutrition for a castrated (sterilized) animal

It is very important to feed a castrated animal correctly:

  • Organizing a balanced diet in accordance with the nutritional requirements of neutered cats on your own is quite difficult. It is not recommended to feed your pets homemade food; it is best to purchase ready-made food.
  • If you plan to feed the cat yourself, the diet should be dominated by lean meats: chicken, turkey, rabbit. You can give rice, corn, wheat porridge. To cleanse the stomach and kidneys, they give a special herb that can be grown at home.
  • To avoid obesity, you need to reduce portions. Food should be given twice a day, one serving of dry food - 30 g.
  • There should always be clean, fresh, cool water near the bowl. The volume of water consumed by a cat should be 2 times the volume of food he eats.
  • To improve the condition of the coat, skin, and strengthen the musculoskeletal system, the cat is given vitamin complexes. When choosing vitamins, you should choose those that do not contain magnesium and phosphorus. These trace elements contribute to the formation of kidney and bladder stones.

These simple rules will help maintain the health of a neutered cat. Organizing proper nutrition is the basis of caring for your pet.

Appearance

The food is packed in a sealed bag with a zip fastener, very convenient for long-term storage. The smell is very pleasant and does not cause disgust. The granules are medium in size, slightly elongated oval in shape. They are easy for cats to bite through and do not cause any difficulty in chewing and swallowing.

Purina Cat Chow food is produced in three countries - Hungary, Russia and the USA. You can find out the country of origin by the labeling. It no longer belongs to the economy class, but it is also quite difficult to attribute it to the premium segment. Something in between.

Let's summarize the main results

In general, the composition of Cat Chow food corresponds to what is stated, it is distinguished by its balanced components and naturalness. A big plus is the presence of vegetables, herbs, vitamin and mineral complexes in the food.

A significant drawback can be considered the addition of artificial flavors, flavor enhancers, preservatives, but this is quite acceptable for economy class. It’s also nice to have a wide variety of different series, made depending on the characteristics of the pet. Veterinarians believe that this food is quite suitable for feeding cats and is a worthy competitor among representatives of the economy category.

Compound

Despite the fact that in large letters on the packaging it is written about a large percentage of meat content, grain crops come first in the composition. Which ones are not indicated, the percentage of content is the same.

In second position is meat, which occupies 33%. But even here, not everything is so smooth - the composition says that it can be both meat and processed meat products.

Whose meat exactly it is, as well as with grains, is not indicated.

Then, finally, the specific ingredients are indicated. Products of processing of plant raw materials are added to the feed: 2.7% dry beets, 0.07% parsley. This is where the specifics end, followed by various vegetable protein extracts, vegetables, minerals and preservatives, yeast, vitamins and antioxidants and flavorings.

Since there is no way to know which preservatives were added, it is unknown how such a composition may affect the health of the animal.

Energy composition and value

The food contains 40% proteins, 12% fats, 8.5% minerals, 2.5% dietary fiber.

Calorie content, oddly enough, is not indicated on the packaging.

Types of feed

Purina has a fairly extensive range; you can choose food that suits your cat's needs. The type depends primarily on the age, weight and health of the pet.

There are eight varieties of dry food in total:

  • Cat Chow for kittens containing chicken. It’s easy to determine the age category from the name: the food is great for kittens up to one year old. It would also be wise to buy it for pregnant or lactating cats.
  • Cat Chow Adult with chicken and turkey. If your adult cat leads an active lifestyle, then Purina marketers advise you to buy this particular food. However, it is worth considering that the promised chicken and turkey are very small there, about 4%. Instead of meat there may be offal.
  • Cat Chow Adult with rabbit and liver. The liver of what is the secret of production. This food is the second option for adult animals leading an active lifestyle. In terms of performance, it is no different from previous feeds; the composition is identical.
  • Cat Chow 3 in 1. Amazing food that saves you from all diseases. Serves as a preventive measure against tartar and plaque on teeth, protects the stomach and urinary system.
  • Cat Chow Special Care Hairball Control. Special hair-reducing food containing more fiber.
  • Cat Chow Special Care Urinary Tract Health. Contains less magnesium, i.e. safer for the urinary system. Indicated for the prevention of urolithiasis.
  • Cat Chow Special Care Sensitive. Created for cats with digestive problems, it tidies up the skin and coat. Enriched with omega acids, contains chicory.
  • Cat Chow Special Care Sterilized. Food for sterilized cats. One of the most popular foods. Designed to support your pet's optimal body weight.

However, in stores there are not only budget dryers from Purina, but also spiders for cats. The buyer is offered a choice of 4 types of canned food with pieces in jelly: with chicken and zucchini, with lamb and green beans, with salmon and peas for true gourmets and, finally, with beef and eggplant.

The manufacturer promises a completely natural composition without preservatives, however, feeding the food to animals under one year of age is not recommended.

Feeding standards

Since the food is not expensive, its energy value is low. Therefore, feeding rates are much higher than any holistic food, or even super-premium. For small cats weighing up to 4 kg, you need from 35 to 70 g of food per day. For cats that weigh more than 4 kilograms, from 70 to 105. Further - the larger the cat, the more food.

Among the features: since the food is not wet, it is necessary to always give the cat enough clean drinking water.

Advantages and disadvantages

Let's summarize. It's not all that good, it's not all that bad. One of the advantages of food is its low cost and availability. You can buy it in any store, even in a supermarket. Cats eat food with great pleasure, they like it. The disadvantages are the not very high-quality composition, the use of by-products and preservatives, and flavoring additives. Much is hidden from the buyer; the composition does not contain complete information. Has low energy value.

General information about food

Vitamins and more

The next significant component of the feed is meat and its processed products in a percentage of 20 to 35, plus water.

Fats and oils of animal and vegetable origin are declared separately. Moreover, fish oil is also present here, which gives Cat Chow an additional advantage over economy-class food.

The food also contains vegetables - beets (2.7%), dry mixtures of parsley (0.7%), spinach, carrots. Yeast (in theory these are B vitamins), minerals (potassium, phosphorus, copper, iodine, manganese, selenium, iron, zinc), preservatives and vitamins are also declared.

Cat Chow 3 in 1 is a food that, according to the manufacturer, helps remove hairballs from the stomach, prevents the formation of plaque and tartar on the teeth, and improves the function of the excretory system. It contains 40% cereals, 20% meat and its derivatives, products from processed plant materials (carrots, dried spinach, chicory root), vegetable protein in the form of extract, vitamins, preservatives, minerals and yeast. The high content of plant fibers in the composition is capable of removing hair from the body before it turns into a lump in the esophagus and stomach.

The manufacturer created Adult Sensitive for cats with a sensitive digestive system. The composition states 40% cereals, 20% meat ingredients, fish and its derivative products, vegetable proteins, vitamins, yeast, minerals, vegetable protein, antioxidants. The main type of grains and meat is not indicated; it is clear that fish (salmon is indicated on the packaging - looks like a marketing ploy) acts as an additive. It seems that the manufacturer is hiding information about the composition. Unfortunately, this data is not enough for Cat Chow in this category to be suitable for cats with a sensitive gastrointestinal tract or to be hypoallergenic.

Composition, cost

The most unpleasant component in the composition is a preservative of unknown origin. Cereals are the main filler; it is not indicated which ones, but in vain. Wheat and corn, for example, are difficult to digest and can cause an allergic reaction. Vegetables, a source of fiber, may also contain additional additives not listed in the ingredients list.

Vegetable protein in the recipe is a cheap raw material, individual extracts that allow you to increase the total mass of protein in the feed. Minerals and vitamins are a good part of the composition, but I would like to see specific names rather than the general name. Sugars are used to color the food, but they accumulate in the body and cause harm to it. Amino acids are prescribed in the composition, but they must be in the meat, i.e. no additional enrichment is required. We can assume that there is no meat here at all.

The composition is poor and weak, Cat Chow does not have the ability to satiate for a long time, the preservative also reduces the overall rating. Among the advantages, buyers note the low price, necessary additives, low content of components that cause allergies. Cat Chow is not addictive. If you do use this food, then only because of financial problems, temporarily and in combination with other foods, without overfeeding your pet.

It should be noted that due to the low nutritional value, the consumption of food will be greater; in general, you can try giving food to your pet if possible, combining it with something else.

Reviews

There are practically no reviews of the food from veterinarians. Although, having seen the composition, they would not recommend this food. But if you ask a search engine the query “cat chow purina reviews”, you will immediately be offered hundreds of opinions written by buyers and cat owners.

Reviews vary greatly. Some people use the food all their lives and are quite happy with it, for others it didn’t suit them right away, and some animals developed serious health problems after changing their diet. Don't forget that all cats are different, and what suits one may not suit another. This applies even to expensive holistic foods, what can we say about the budget Purina? Before changing your diet to Purina, you should consult your veterinarian.

For restricted feeding

If a pet has problems with excess weight (which often happens after castration or sterilization) or digestion, the owner is recommended to switch the cat to special dietary food that will help keep it in shape.

For sterilized

The Cat Chow line includes the following types of dietary products:

  1. Cat Chow Special Care Hair Ball Control . When licking fur, hairs stuck to the tongue end up in the cat's stomach, which leads to the formation of hair balls. The presence of such lumps in the stomach causes discomfort to the pet and can also cause digestive problems. Cat Chow Special Care Hair Ball Control contains high levels of plant fiber that prevent hairballs from forming and promote gentle hair removal.
  2. Cat Chow Special Care Sterilazed. Designed for castrated and sterilized cats. Veterinarians warn that sterilized animals have a significantly slower metabolism, which, combined with a passive lifestyle, can cause weight gain. If you give your pet Cat Chow cat food, the risk of gaining extra pounds will not be as high; in addition, it helps maintain muscle tone.

On a note! If the owner feeds the pet with dry industrial food, one must remember that the animal must have fresh water at all times. Otherwise, the risk of dehydration increases, which can lead to the development of serious health problems.

conclusions

Cat Chow will certainly be better than Whiskas, Kitiket, and other cheapest foods. It no longer belongs to the economy class, and its composition compares favorably, although it leaves much to be desired. It includes meat, vitamins, and vegetables. The food is well accepted by cats as food and is easy to store.

Of course, if you want to prolong your pet’s life as much as possible, protecting against various diseases and problems, it is better to choose food from super-premium or holistic lines. This option is not suitable for everyone financially, so Cat Chow food for cats always remains a spare and, in general, a good budget alternative.

Advantages and disadvantages of food

Here you need to make comparisons - for one, the price will be an advantage, another will consider a cheap product to be of low quality, and a third will like the natural salmon in the composition. You also need to take into account that animals are individual, and what food you will feed them and what the consequences will be depends on their tastes and health.

pros

The Proplan line of food contains a lot of natural protein. True, this ratio is achieved not through pure meat, but by adding offal and vegetable proteins. Considering that we are not talking about a pure product, but about protein as a substance, there is no difference. Proplan must contain meat, chicken or salmon - read the label. Salmon is not an additive for advertising, but a full-fledged component, there is no less of it than chicken.

The main grains included are rice and corn. There is wheat here and there, but there is no wheat in the line for sensitive cats, as well as fish protein. Rice and corn are not allergenic and do not affect coat color. The composition also includes probiotics, which are responsible for the health of your own microflora and immunity. There are vitamin complexes and minerals, which means that you will not need to feed your cat supplements that animals usually do not like. These additives raise Proplan to the same level as super-premium feeds.

Important! Before switching a cat to Proplan nutrition on an ongoing basis, it is necessary to carry out a control feeding of several weeks and final laboratory tests at a veterinary clinic. If the test results are normal, the food is suitable for your pet. If not, you'll have to look for something else.

If not, you'll have to look for something else.

Purina Proplan can be found in any pet supply store and supermarket along with human food; you do not need to specifically look for it or order it. Moreover, the price for it is not much higher than the prices for Whiskas and Kitikat, which all veterinarians prohibit feeding to animals. We get a decent price-quality balance, plus positive recommendations from veterinarians.

Minuses

The origin of the protein is not the best. Normal for food in this price category, but it would be advisable to feed the animals meat rather than protein extracted from soybeans. Beta-carotene, indicated in food for older animals, sometimes gives a reddish coat to the coat; this is unacceptable for show cats. There are also very few vegetables in the composition, that is, the mineral, vitamin and protein balance is achieved by mixing meat ingredients and additives. However, the cat gets everything he needs.

Did you know? A cat's jaw can move from bottom to top and from top to bottom, that is, in a vertical plane. In the horizontal plane, a cat cannot move its jaw the way we can when we grind food. That's why cats eat only a small piece of food at a time. Lions, large cats, even swallow pieces of meat without chewing.

As you can see, Purina Proplan has many more advantages than disadvantages. Those shortcomings that exist can rather be called wishes - more vegetables, more meat, fewer allergens. We are pleased with the wide selection of food, the company’s individual approach to the problems of animal owners and complete balance.

There is no need to worry about mineral supplements, constant oral hygiene and food sterility - Purina has already taken care of this. However, before completely switching your cat to dry or wet ready-made food, you need to take him to an appointment with a veterinarian. After approval from the doctor, you can conduct a month-long experimental feeding and, if after that all indicators are normal, the cat can be finally switched to this food.

Review of Cat Chow cat food

Dry food for cats Cat Chow (Cat Chow) belongs to the economy class. It is produced by Purina (Nestle Purina PetCare Company, USA) in Russia (RU marking) and Hungary (HU marking). The official Russian website for food is https://www.purina-catchow.ru/, it contains information about the composition of the food, feeding recommendations, and also a lot of text about how good this food is.

We will check this information below, and here we will also note that Purina also produces food from other brands for cats and dogs. For example, Darling, ProPlan (premium class), One, Dog Chow, Friskies, Gourmet, Felix.

Cat Chow food composition

Let's study the composition of Cat Chow dry food using the example of the Kitten variant (“for kittens, with a high chicken content”). First, see its composition for yourself, to do this, click on the image below to enlarge it (for easier reading):

On the left is a photo of the composition indicated on the packaging, on the right is a screen shot from the official website.

As in most economy-class food, the first ingredient here is cereals. It is specified that this is a whole grain, but what crops are not specified (wheat, barley, oats?). Cereals are mainly a source of carbohydrates. It is not indicated what their percentage in the composition is.

In second place are meat and meat products. It’s good that the quantity is specified - 33%, but the bad thing is that it is not specified how much meat and by-products there are. In addition, it is not specified what exactly these meat products are.

Dry beet pulp is a source of fiber, dry parsley is more of a seasoning than a truly healthy ingredient. It should be noted that these ingredients are not used here, but their processed products! They even saved on beet pulp...

Vegetable protein extract is a source of plant proteins, vegetable and animal fats are sources of fatty acids, vegetables are sources of vitamins. And if the latter are clarified, then what crops the protein and oils are obtained from, as well as what animal fats are not specified.

The composition is completed by a set of additives: minerals, preservatives, yeast, vitamins, antioxidants. Again, it is not specified what preservatives and antioxidants are used.

Advantages and disadvantages

Among the advantages of this food:

  • the percentage of meat ingredients in the composition is indicated, and it is quite high;
  • Widely distributed, can be purchased at most pet stores;
  • low price, like other representatives of economy class.

Among the disadvantages of Cat Chow food:

  • The basis of the food is cereals, and cats are carnivores (meat should be the basis of the diet).
  • widespread use of by-products that are not specified;
  • relatively few vitamins, minerals and other nutrients;
  • The preservatives and antioxidants used are not indicated.

Advantages and disadvantages

The component composition of Cat Chow food has both advantages and disadvantages.

Dry food Cat Chow Adult Sterilized has the following advantages:

  1. Low price. Not everyone has the financial ability to feed their pets super premium products or holistic foods. Cat Chow Adult Sterilized is cheaper than many premium foods from other manufacturers.
  2. Balanced composition. Despite the small amount of meat components and the presence of grains, the ratio of nutrients is acceptable for cats and kittens. Homemade food cannot be properly balanced.
  3. Good palatability. Flavors and flavor enhancers make the food attractive to spayed and neutered pets.
  4. Presence of vitamins. The food is enriched with all the substances necessary for cats and kittens, including the essential amino acid taurine.

The disadvantages of the food are:

  1. Lack of quality animal proteins. Protein sources are plant matter.
  2. Cereals as the main ingredient. This is a cheap filler. If the food contains a lot of grains and little meat and by-products, then the nutritional value is low. To satisfy the animal, a large portion is needed. To avoid health problems, your pet should drink 3 times more liquid than the food he ate. And this is practically unrealistic. Cats and cats do not drink 250-300 ml of water per day.
  3. Presence of preservatives. The manufacturer does not indicate how the food is preserved. There are different types of preservatives. Some of them are dangerous to the health of cats.
  4. Addiction. After Cat Chow, it is difficult to switch the animal to higher quality food that does not contain flavor enhancers and flavorings.

Customer Reviews

Half a year ago I got a kitten of the British breed; at the time I gave it to him he was one and a half months old. I read about care and feeding on the Internet and found out that the breed has an increased chance of developing urolithiasis. To avoid this, I decided to feed only good premium or super premium food, and the choice fell on Royal Canin. Once again I went to the pet store and found out that it was out of stock, the seller advised me to take Cat Chow as an alternative.

The packaging of this food is cute and easy to open and close. The food looks like food, and the smell also seems to be nothing special. However, the kitten did not approve of it - it ate quite poorly compared to Royal Canin (it was usually poured twice a day, ate it right away, and the new one ate it little by little). While I finished eating the small 0.4 kg package, I noticed that somehow I began to shed more.

I looked at the ingredients carefully and the question arose: since when did 14% chicken become “high poultry content”? I thought there was at least 50 percent of it in the food, I should have looked at the composition before buying. I will not recommend this food and will not buy any more.

Good day to all. Today I want to share my review of Cat Chow food. We switched to it because after castration the cat began to eat Friskies poorly, although before that he didn’t eat it very well. It seems to be positioned as middle class, they also looked at Perfect Fit. But it’s somehow too advertised, and usually the more advertising, the more you overpay precisely because of it.

I would say the cat really liked the new food, he eats much better, maybe partly because it seems easier to chew. I also noticed that the poop smelled less. Otherwise there are no changes, the cat seems to be healthy.

I would also like to note that before choosing, I read a lot of reviews and realized that everything is individual. Some feed and everything is fine, others begin to have problems. Our cat is not purebred, he ate the same Whiskas from his parents and lived to be 17 years old. In general, I recommend it, especially if you don’t have a lot of money to buy premium food.

I decided to slightly justify the undeservedly criticized Cat Chow food. Many cat owners are looking for food with holistic quality at an economy class price, but that doesn’t happen! Of course, the composition is not very good, but do not forget to compare the price. Royal Canin, Happy Cat, Mnyams - all with the best composition, but at the same time twice as expensive.

Naturally, for a higher price, they can put more meat or better ingredients there. But the same Whiskas or Friskies are half the price of Cat Chow, which means the second one is still twice as good in quality. Now a little personal experience.

I took a 400 g bag to try, the cat crunches it with pleasure and is not capricious. The food granules are convenient, without a pungent odor. I finished the package, nothing bad happened. True, I noticed that the food consumption is more than that of Royal Canin. I am also confused by the name “preservative” without indicating what kind of preservative it is. In general, I recommend this food as an inexpensive and better alternative to whiskey and friskis.

Comparison of Purina Van food with other dry food

Most cat food brands are represented in economy class, with the exception of ProPlan food, which is premium. The approximate composition of the ingredients in these feeds is as follows:

  • Felix food is a wet food; has a low protein content (11.5%); reading the composition, it is not clear what kind of protein we are talking about; the amount of added vitamins and minerals is small; the cost of a pack of pouches weighing eighty-five grams is from 15 to 20 rubles;
  • Dry food "Friskies" contains 13% protein, but neither the percentage of meat products nor their origin is given, the description of the main components is rather vague, vitamins A and D and a small amount of microelements are added; the cost of a one and a half kilogram pack of dry food is about 360 rubles;
  • the amount of protein in Darling dry food is 26%, of which 10 are meat ingredients, the rest are vegetable; wheat is indicated as a source of carbohydrates, vitamins A, D3 and B (yeast) and a minimum amount of microelements are added; the cost of a two-kilogram pack is from 360 rubles;
  • wet food “Gourmet” is presented in the form of pouches and pates, it contains 14% protein, but how much of it is plant-based, there is no data, although there is a clarification: meat products contain at least 4% duck; added vitamins F. D and E, as well as minerals; pouch cost: 30–30 rubles; pates - over 40 rubles;
  • dry food "Cat Chow" contains 40% protein, of which 33% is meat and meat products; the composition also includes whole grain cereals (without specifying which ones) and a source of fiber - beet pulp and other dry vegetables; added vitamins A. D3. E and group B, the amount of listed minerals is greater; the cost of a two-kilogram package is from 400 rubles;
  • ProPlan dry food contains 36% protein, of which 21% is chicken (not chicken meat), as well as dry poultry protein, egg white and vegetable protein (wheat and corn gluten), but the percentage of these components is not indicated; sources of carbohydrates are called wheat and rice; added vitamins A, D, E, C, group B (yeast) and minerals; In addition to dry food, there is wet and medicinal food; the cost of a one and a half kilogram package is over 900 rubles.

From the above list you can see that the composition of dry food “Friskas” and “Darling” is somewhat worse, “Cat Chow” is approximately at the same level, and “ProPlan” food is superior in the content of meat components, but is significantly higher in price.
