Scottish Fold: owner reviews, character, advantages and disadvantages

Sooner or later, a turning point comes in the life of a person who loves cats. Somewhere deep inside a desire arises: “I want a purebred cat!” It becomes stronger, matures, and eventually penetrates the brain. From that moment on, the cat lover was sure that he only needed a purebred cat.

Begins choosing and searching for a breed. A person searches for information about it by studying information on the Internet inside and out. In our article you will find reviews about the Scottish Fold, as well as answers to your questions.

Origin

Many years ago, in a Scottish village, there lived a cat named Susie. She was not particularly outstanding or noticeable. An ordinary village cat who caught mice in the barn, drank milk from a saucer and gave birth to kittens. It was the descendants who made Susie famous. Oh yes, the cat had unusual ears. Folded, curved down and quite small. But the owner was not interested in her ears. Performs its functionality, and, thank God.

As time passed, the cat brought kittens. One such litter was born from a neighbor's cat, a very ordinary village warrior. Among her brothers and sisters, a cute cat stood out. She inherited her mother's ears. To the farmer-owner, the lack of crumbs did not seem touching. It appeared only when the baby grew up. She was three weeks old. Susie's owner decided to get rid of his second handicapped cat.

If this had happened, the world would never have known about the Scottish breed. Reviews about the Scottish Fold cat are the most wonderful: she is known and loved all over the world.

The kitten is lucky. A familiar cat herder came to visit the farmer. He was very fond of fluffy purrs and was seriously interested in breeding them. The shepherd liked the unusual cat. He bought her, named her Snooksy and raised her.

In 1963, Snooksy gave birth to her first litter. The father of the kittens was a cat of the British breed. Upon further study of her offspring, it became clear that the lop-eared gene was dominant in them. Another reward from Grandma Susie was long hair. In order to consolidate the “ear zest”, the first kittens were crossed with each other. Subsequently, British cats took part in breeding. Thus, the world received the Scottish Fold, in reviews of which you can hear many flattering words.

Breeding

Purebred representatives of the Highland Fold are quite rare cats. This is primarily due to the need to control genetic mutations within the breed, which has as many as two – those responsible for long hair and for lop ears.

A typical Highland fold can result from mating:

  • straight-eared and fold-eared Scottish, provided that the couple had long-haired cats in their pedigrees;
  • Highland Fold and Scottish Straight, if the latter had furrier ancestors than himself;
  • straight-eared Highland and fold-eared Scottish, if he has the gene for long hair;
  • a classic pair, certainly accepted by the standards, - the straight-eared and the fold-eared Highland.

The subtleties of breeding also include the fact that kittens in one litter can be very different: both folds and straights. It is possible to understand who is who only three weeks after birth - then the cartilage tissue is finally formed. At the same time, straight-eared dogs are not rejected, but are used in purebred breed lines, ensuring the health of the offspring.

Peculiarities

It all starts with the pet's appearance. These unusually curved ears, almost pressed to the head, coupled with huge expressive eyes, have become the hallmark of the breed.

Another feature is the refusal to recognize the Scottish Fold as a separate breed in its own homeland. This is due to the concerns of felinologists regarding the ears of animals. Many cat experts believe that sooner or later, such a mutation will play a bad role for the representatives of the breed.

The character of the Scottish Fold, according to reviews, is very surprising. Aristocrats talk about such cats. Representatives of the breed definitely have blue blood flowing through them. Otherwise, how to explain their tact and almost complete lack of aggression towards their own offenders?

Description of Highland Folds

Body

The case dimensions are average. Visually, cats may appear large and well-fed. This impression is created due to the wide bone and long hair. However, in reality, their physique is average for a cat.

Highland Folds have a powerful neck. The limbs are of medium length, while strong and strong. The paw pads are round and soft. The width of the shoulder girdle practically coincides with the width of the croup.

Tail

The stunningly beautiful tail of Highland Fold pets is also of medium length (two-thirds of the length of the body), very flexible, tapering to the tip. The Scottish cat has a characteristic feature: it often sits on its tail and places its front paws on its stomach.

Head

The Scottish Longhair has a rounded head with well-defined cheeks, a strong chin and a prominent forehead. The nose is neat, the transition from it to the forehead has a small, barely noticeable depression. The whisker pads on the muzzle are rounded.

Ears

The ears are small and set wide apart. A distinctive feature enshrined in

standard is their form. The ears should be folded forward and downward. This feature does not appear in the Highland Fold immediately after birth, but only two to three weeks later. Some newborn kittens have ears that stand straight up, while others, on the contrary, are completely pressed to the head. In purebred cats, a change in the position of the auricle subsequently occurs, as a result of which they become lop-eared.

Eyes

They are also set wide apart and have a rounded shape. The color range of the iris varies in light shades; most often, animals with golden eyes are found. But in any case, the eye color is in harmony with the color.

Wool

Qualitative and quantitative indicators of the coat are one of the distinctive features of the Scottish breed, which appeared in the Highlands. In general, hair is of medium length, but it differs in different parts of the body. The hair on the face and paws is shorter than on the body. Particularly chic are the “pants”, “shirt front” and the tail. Noticeably long hairs grow on cats and between their fingers.

The quality of the fur is also amazing. It is very soft and silky. The undercoat of Highland Folds is well defined, and it is as soft as the main hair. Connoisseurs of the breed call the undercoat of these animals “airy, cloudy and light.”

The color of Highland Fold pets can vary over a wide range of colors. A purebred Scottish Fold long-haired kitten can be born white, red, gray, or black. The color distribution can be different: plain, brindle, spotted, marble.

At the same time, the breed standard does not allow several color characteristics:

  • the presence of nonspecific white spots;
  • lilac color;
  • chocolate coloring;
  • colorpoint colors.

Appearance

Reviews of the Scottish Fold cat say that representatives of this breed are large. Males can weigh around 10 kg, although the beautiful ladies are much lighter.

The body of the animal resembles a square when viewed from the side. At the same time, cats are not fat at all, they just have well-developed muscles. The head is wide, oval, the ears are pressed tightly against it. The muzzle is round, rather plump cheeks. The eyes are very large, resembling a sphere.

The paws of the Scottish Fold, according to reviews, are quite strong and powerful. Another highlight is the animal’s fur: it is short, fits tightly to the body, and feels like plush to the touch.

The color of representatives of the breed can be different: from smoky to tabby or color point. Eye color depends on coat color. White cats can have blue or multi-colored eyes.

Details

External factors influencing the formation of individual characteristics of a Scot include:

  • Environment, including children. If they are poorly raised, the kitten can become withdrawn, vindictive, aggressive, and suspicious. Such traits are not typical for the breed as a whole. That is, a well-mannered child will have the most beneficial effect on a small pet.
  • Place of residence. Despite their self-sufficiency, Scottish people value coziness and comfort. The kitten will not like it in a house filled with numerous noisy strangers. He will grow up fearful, timid, secretive. Even an adult cat is uncomfortable with moving. The pet will not be happy with drastic changes; it may frighten him. influences behavior and ability to walk on the street. Those pets that do not leave their apartment are attached to humans and are characterized by lack of independence. In the opposite case, the animal is no longer particularly dependent on the owner, is less picky about food and loves freedom.
  • Sterilization. Affects the behavior of the pet, which, having lost the ability to reproduce, becomes calm, peaceful, and obedient. A person must do everything possible to prevent an animal from trying to turn into a couch potato.
  • Leisure. Reviews from breeders say that kittens with a lot of toys do not have a tendency to overeat and be lazy. A phlegmatic animal is less likely to grow up. It has been noted that active play develops hunting skills, energy, activity, and the ability to insist on one’s own.
  • The presence of other pets in the same house. This circumstance raises the hope that the Scot will grow up friendly. Straights may look down on some animals, but those who live under their roof are best friends, including dogs. The latter form the traits of mischief and fun in the Scots, as reviews note. Sometimes cats become so friendly with dogs that their owners can only envy them.

Character

Reviews about the character of the Scottish Fold cat are generally positive. These animals are very interesting in character. They are affectionate, but at the same time they choose one owner. Some will say that this cannot happen. Everyone knows that cats walk on their own. They, unlike dogs, do not become attached to people. But not representatives of the Scottish breed. This is a one-owner cat, no matter how strange these words may sound. Only to him will she trustingly begin to purr her songs. Only he will come to him and lie on his knees. And only he can scratch her tummy with impunity.

This does not mean at all that the family’s favorite does not like the rest of its members. No, that's not true. The Scottish Fold cat, according to owners' reviews, is patient with children. She calmly plays with them, but if the baby really starts to bother the pet, then she is able to delicately hint at this. Hit your hand with your paw without letting go of your claws, or lightly bite the annoying one. And all this is done very delicately, so as not to harm the little owner.

The pet does not like being openly forced upon him. That’s why she tries to run away from the overly insolent guests who decided to cuddle the big-eyed beauty.

They say that it is not the cat who lives with the owner, but the owner who lives with the cat. I just have a cat.

Since childhood I dreamed of a cat, but my mother was categorically against it. When I got married and moved, we immediately got a cat (we bought it online). I wanted a girl of the Scottish Fold breed (I think that cats are more obedient and this breed is very cute). She was 3 months old. My nickname is Nicole (Nika), but more often I call her Musya. Responds to all names. I went to the tray on the very first day (a tray without filler with a grid - that’s what the breeder recommended). I ate everything that was given. The cat quickly got used to it and studied everything with curiosity. In a word, she behaved like an ordinary active and playful kitten. The whole family was touched.

Since we didn’t want the kitten to sleep in the bed with us at night, we bought her a soft bed and I put it on the bedside table next to me. So she sleeps at night in her place, but next to me. I'm like her mother (I feed, clean, cuddle). She is a little afraid of her husband, although she loves to cuddle with him.

At the moment, Nicole is just over 2 years old.

Character

  • Obedient. Understands my voice and intonation. If you can't, then you can't. Skoda does not make (curtains, wallpaper, clothes, Christmas tree decorations, flowers on the windowsill - not interested). She pulled paper off the toilet a couple of times and tore it to shreds - that was the end of her losses. Bye…
  • Playful. Usually twice a day (in the morning and in the evening after a bite) he likes to play catch-up, hide-and-seek with me, and play with a ball or mouse. In short, I have to run around. She runs loudly and jumps (I call her Horse Tygydynsky))))))
  • Not intrusive, but she loves to constantly be next to me or walk with her tail.
  • Boytail. If guests come, Nicole hides in a secret place and does not come out until everyone has left, not to mention petting her. The vacuum cleaner is enemy number one. Enemies number two are bags and boxes.
  • Not touchy or aggressive.
  • Disciplined. She doesn’t ask for food from the table, and she’s never shit in the wrong place.
  • A real lady with aristocratic manners.
  • Doesn't like to be cuddled or be held - that's the only drawback. Although, when she wants to, she jumps onto her arms and curls up into a ball.

Care

  1. He eats wet food (a pack in the morning and evening) and a little dry food (a chew before bed to brush his teeth). There are no problems with feeding.
  2. I comb it out with a special mitten. In summer once every 1-2 weeks, in winter - less often.
  3. I trim my nails with clippers as needed. Nika doesn’t use a scratching post; she likes to sharpen her claws on the wall of small pebbles in the hallway. Nothing hurts anymore.
  4. Periodically I give malt paste for wool, and once a quarter I give drontal (for worms). She wears a flea collar (she picked one up somewhere once).
  5. I took her to the veterinary clinic: they examined her and gave her vaccinations.

Estrus

At the age of 8-9 months, the cat began to show signs of puberty. Once a month, Nika sings her love song in the corridor, begins to roll on the floor, not allowing passage, and cooes (everything is within tolerable limits).

Conclusion

Having read many reviews about this breed on the site, I will say that all cats are different. Some are more touchy, others are arrogant, others are vindictive. But character largely depends on upbringing. If you indulge the cat in everything and allow everything, then it will be that you live with her, and not she with you.

Thank you for reading! Good luck to all!

PS I ask felinologists not to be smart and keep your malicious comments to yourself

Our cat is almost two years old. We took it from a breeder and we got a kitten for free. The owner had many cats in the house and did not have time to sell kittens, we were lucky, we took the last boy.

The kitten took root immediately and was trained to the tray.

About education

As a child, I put the curtains on the windowsill so that he would have no interest in them, and I did the same with the wires.

Our cat loves to chew books and any paper, for some reason this has been a feature since childhood. Otherwise there are no problems, I tried the wires a couple of times. The cat was immediately accustomed to the scratching post when he decided to try sharpening his claws on the sofa. Now it sharpens properly, but sometimes it swings at the sofa. Regarding scratching posts: a scratching post with twine is better, it is practical, there was cardboard all over the house, and it is not durable, although it is attractive.

The relationship with the tray is strange now, he is terribly tearing at it, knocking with it until we clean up after him.

Character

These cats have a specific character. Ours looks more like a dog. He is very faithful and devoted, when I am upset or sick - he is always there, he knows when I need him and always comes at the right time... But the rest of the time, except for the moments when he wants affection, you can forget about him))) He is proud and loves personal space, never sits on my lap, and sometimes does not like it when I pet him. But the cat is a great friend, he carries toys in his teeth in a funny way and plays. He loves to be photographed))) My cat and I are lucky, he is very calm, never rushes, never scratches, and practically doesn’t go crazy. Sometimes he can look into your eyes and tear up the sofa…. Character…)))

Feed

The breeder fed Roal Canin, so at first we took it. The cat was not happy with him. It hits your pocket hard, plus the food is not worth the money. During Sam's short life, he went through a lot of food. It was even whiskey that I was allergic to. The cat was itching. From the expensive ones we took: Brit, monge, proplan. None of them really fit, the food is expensive, but there’s not much point in them. The cat's toilet smelled terrible after them, and the cat refused to eat at all. We settled on ProBalance. Ideal food in terms of price and quality. For 400 g - 100 rubles. There are different ones, we take for castrated ones. He eats great, everything is fine, no complaints, this is the second year we have been feeding him.

PS Do not take food weighing 10 kg, after opening it spoils, releases toxins, and causes problems with the liver and intestines. No matter how profitable it is, it is better to take small packs. We spent quite a lot on treatment because of this oversight.

A little about girls...Or how we decided to take him a girlfriend.

Let me tell you right away, it was terrible. We accidentally found an ad on the Internet, the cat was Scottish and the same age. Our cat is neutered, we had no intention of breeding anyone, we just wanted him to have company. But... a seemingly sweet creature turned into hell, almost immediately, we gave the cat away a couple of days later. She didn’t like the cat and acted like crazy. She scratched us completely and showed her character in every possible way. In general, girls are very capricious, active and with a very, very creepy character.

A few downsides:

Weak gastrointestinal tract

Constant shedding, hair just everywhere...

In general, I really love this cat, it is my joy and anti-stress. He is a loyal friend and a calm pet, he does not bother you with his presence. And he is also very handsome and kind)))))

When I divorced my husband, my daughter was 10 years old. I was at work, and she was bored alone, so I started begging for a pet. I really wanted that terrier, but I was against it (I don’t like these always trembling little dogs, excuse me). Then she foaled at a friend’s house Scottish Fold and we adopted a kitten. Well, “we” is a strong word, the initiator was, after all, the daughter. At first, the little ball of fur amused and touched us!” Well, the potty knows! Well, he eats exclusively in a bowl !”In short, we obviously jinxed our Businka (who by the second year of her life became just a nightmare!)... She never had a good-natured character, and I’ll say more - I’ve never seen such a cat “on my mind”! Neither you can cuddle, nor you can play and even more so to purr. When she was little, it was all right, but as she grew up, she became just some kind of beast. All attempts to play with her turned out to be quite disastrous for her daughter - Busya scratched herself so much that the wounds from her claws did not heal for a very long time. Soft toys got much more. We periodically took out the “corpses” of once beloved toys into the trash, Busya dealt with them with some kind of manic frenzy. “The survivors” had to be given away... A scratching post - what is that?!! Her beaded Majesty doesn’t recognize her at all. Sometimes it seemed like SHE is the mistress, and we are her pets. Today “Majesty” wants milk! What, they didn’t understand what I said, eat your own “whisky.” Food in a bowl sours - “Our Majesty wants something special, so... what’s in the refrigerator????” And he climbs into the refrigerator - yes, yes, I had to buy special suction cups (like for small children, so that the cabinets do not open) in order to protect products from a barbaric ASSAULT. And if she ate, no, the little Russian would bite her and throw her away! No matter how much they tried to catch her at the scene of the crime, all efforts were in vain. They had to change her tray as soon as our kitty did all the work, otherwise, here you have this prize next to the tray. If everything in the house is upside down, this is our Busya! She likes to hide small objects, throw photographs and books from cabinets (what amuses her most? Watching everything fly to the floor - “into smithereens or not” “?or do you like it when we chase her around the house to punish her? I don’t know…..We endure it for now, it’s a pity to give it away….Even though it’s such a turd, it’s our own, dear….

I give a rating of 3, only out of respect for other cats of this breed. We received a “defective” version)))

Sorry for the mighty review, I hope you enjoyed reading it)))

Measure one hundred times and cut one! Hello! I’m not a fan of writing essays, but I still decided to share my story with you and warn against possible mistakes from my own experience regarding the plush breed. Since childhood, I grew up with cats and I have a special connection with them, which is why I prefer them as pets rather than dogs :) Our cats were simple breeds, and we never had any special problems with them, they either left home , or were already dying of old age. I have always liked plush Scottish dogs and dreamed of getting one just like that.

My dream came true once, and twice too.

HEALTH First we got Persian and then Shanya, the difference between the kittens is 3 months, I never thought seriously about the fact that the breed is artificial and can have a number of serious diseases, we bought Peach at the pet market, without documents, etc., now he is already 9 months, and all this time we had problems, and even now from time to time. The kitten turned out to have a weak stomach, we need to really watch our diet, we had to treat intestinal problems for a long time, we thought we couldn’t handle it, fortunately we found a competent doctor who cured him, on account of the second The cat, I thought I was already on the safe side, took the kitten from the nursery with documents, but even then trouble awaited us, everything was fine except for the constantly watery eyes, then when the baby began to grow rapidly, I began to notice that his paws were not positioned correctly, like a seal’s, and his tail hanging without much movement, and then I realized that the baby was slipped with defects...

The character is different. As a mother of two plush babies, I see the difference:) Before the arrival of his brother, Peach was more attentive and playful with us =) A very smart and quick-witted cat, and very talkative:) He likes to stand on his hind legs for a long time, begging for food, and he also doesn’t sit on his shoulder like a parrot despite the fact that he is already big)) Shanya has a calm character, loves to talk, loves when his tummy is stroked, especially his tummy, which is softer and smoother, but both of my cats are not tame, they allow themselves to be stroked, they can sleep next to each other, but they do not like to be taken by force under your blanket :) They don’t always like to sit in their arms, depending on their mood :) Their character suits them, since they are on their own and don’t beg for attention. Not mischievous. We didn’t have any problems with the toilet, we only showed them a couple of times where their place for need was, the wallpaper was intact, when Shanya was a little bit chewed on the wires :) Hide it.

My conclusions: Of course, we love them madly and love them, this is our joy and joy, they are like children to me and my heart breaks when they get sick, I ask you, before you want to buy such a breed, think a hundred times... because demand creates business !and business here is the life of unfortunate animals. The health of the guys of this breed is poor. You need to be prepared for anything. In general, if not for the health difficulties of the breed, these are excellent pets, but I won’t take them anymore and I don’t advise you, no matter how they assured you that this is a healthy breed, I consulted with many doctors who constantly encounter problems with such cats... most often it is the heart, kidneys, skeleton... I sincerely feel sorry for them, especially those who suffer from unscrupulous breeders who breed folds among themselves and get sick offspring! If you are already taking kittens only from reliable professional breeders, but this does not guarantee that your pet will be healthy! as in my case! In the UK, the breeding of this breed was banned a long time ago, and for good reason. I believe that the health of living creatures is more important than their cute ears and big eyes! You can love them in any way! With all my heart I wish you and your pets Love and health! Take care of them, we are responsible for those we have tamed!

My beloved Scottish cat is now only 10 months old. This is the first cat of this breed in our house. Name's Barney. When we bought him he was exactly a month old. A small fluffy ball with character that he showed right away. Character, as they say, is not sugar. Everything needs to be as the cat wants. And you can even pet him only when he himself came and wanted to be petted. Feeding by the hour and only with the foods he likes. Even though the cat is short-haired and we brush him constantly, he produces a lot of hair. He is wary of children and may even scratch him. But a very smart and quick-witted cat. I recommend. Buy it, you won't regret it. Our Barnik.

This beautiful animal, a Scottish Fold or Scottish Fold cat, has been living with us for several years now. The smartest creature! Calm, self-respecting, calm. Not very affectionate, but they say that all representatives of this breed are like that.

These cats behave patiently with children. They won't scratch or bite. But!! Remember that Scotch cats have weak bones and are chondropathic. You need to be very careful with them. I would recommend a Scottish cat to those whose children do not have the habit of squeezing and carrying the animal. Scottish dogs are playful. They are fun to play with. They are smart and creative in their play.

Prone to allergies. Requires combing of fur. They are not picky about food. It’s easy to accustom him to the tray, you just need to choose the appropriate filler. They like to bury what they leave in the tray. You definitely need to have a scratching post.

If there are other animals in the house, the Scottish cat does not attack itself, but can stand up for itself.

A wonderful joy has recently settled in our house. And her name is Fiona. This is a cat, almost a kitten, of the Scottish Fold breed. First, a little history. The Scottish Fold is one of the breeds of British cats, more precisely a subspecies of the Scottish Fold breed, the Scottish Fold. What are its distinctive features? They are distinguished by their characteristic short hair (various colors) and, of course, with the usual erect ears. Only recently did this breed receive its own official name - Scottish Straight. Our Fiona has all the listed signs.

What makes us so happy about our Scottish Fiona? Firstly, she is very clean, it’s probably in her blood, even though we didn’t specifically teach her to do it during all this time she lived in our house, she never took a shit. When Fiona came to us, she was one and a half months old, we immediately showed her the tray, the kitten understood the first time (to the great surprise of all of us, especially the grandmother: she was against the cat). Even when she eats food from a bowl, she immediately begins to clean the bowl (scraping the floor around it).

And what’s surprising is that if you stroke her, she begins to lick herself, that is, she cleans herself. I have never seen such cleanliness in other cat breeds, and Fiona is unique in this attitude. Cats of this breed are reserved (by themselves), but not aggressive. For example, even our dog Decl began to respect our Fiona. I would name one more trait, this is the intelligent character of the Scottish Straight. Fiog will not meow for a long time and annoyingly, that is, he does not swear. The cat is very flexible. You scold her for something and she understands the first time and never repeats her previous pranks and mistakes. But for some reason Fiona eats house plants, and I can’t wean my pet off of this. My wife and I have already come to terms with this; we had to rearrange the flowers on the cabinets and refrigerator.

Fiona is very friendly with our children, without aggression and reacted with understanding to the arrival of guests; in general, our cat is not very affectionate, because many friends even affectionate cats reacted extremely aggressively to strangers. Fiona, on the contrary, seems to protect our children. It's interesting to watch how she protects her daughter's sleep. As soon as our daughter falls asleep, she runs up to the crib and doesn’t let anyone near her. Thus, this breed has many advantages, even the fact that it is not affectionate I do not consider as its disadvantages, it is simply a character trait of a given individual. In any case, we all love, cherish and respect him. Everyone knows that the health of decorative cats is not ideal, so when they fed Fiona with dry elite food, she got sick. It’s good that we went to the veterinarian in time, now our Fiona continues to make us happy, she’s like a member of the family.

Three years ago we bought a magnificent fold-eared cat from a cattery. This was our first pet. It’s just a cat, I thought, what can you expect from it? But I was wrong. The cat named Elizaveta turned out to be an unusual creature, more likely an alien. After some time, it turned out that our cat was probably a human in a past life. I'll explain why. She sits on her butt, like a person, and can spend any amount of time in this state. And she only sleeps on her back, with her front legs spread out and her hind legs stretched out straight. She can stay in this position for hours. And no noise or extraneous sounds bother her. But as soon as I take out a bag of food, the sleep disappears. He runs headlong into the kitchen.

As soon as I sit down on a chair, Lisa immediately jumps onto my lap and falls asleep. And if I get sick, the cat doesn’t leave my side for a minute; as they say, it heals me. If I left the house for several hours, she would lie in the corridor and wait. You won't find such devotion among people.

I recently became closely acquainted with this breed of cat. The cat's name is Shunya, she is about 2 years old.

All Scottish cats are completely different in character. There are aggressive ones, and there are calm and affectionate ones.

Ours has a rather aggressive, capricious character. She is very playful and loves to play. But it won’t be given in your hands for anything. Immediately bites and scratches. My hands are already covered in scratches. It plays just as sloppily - its claws point outwards and if it grabs you, it won’t seem like much. I heard that these cats are afraid of heights, maybe that’s why they don’t give in to hands. This is a beautiful cat, mine is smoky with round yellow eyes. The ears are very funny.

The Scots have a fairly independent character and do not feel the need to live closely with people.

These cats have a sense of self-esteem that is rare for many animals. They can confront those people or animals whose company they find unpleasant. Scottish Folds have excellent hunting qualities. They run quickly and silently and climb trees well. My cat can even catch a fly. Scots are exclusively domestic cats and thrive in confined spaces. Therefore, you should not walk them.

We bought ourselves a Scottish cat. At first we were worried about how she would behave, because we still have a 1.6-year-old daughter. After 4 months, I can safely say that they are now best friends. They constantly run around together, play, yearn for something and even feel sad) As for the general description of the breed... Quite smart cats, easy to train to toilet, do not dirty, also freely use a special scratching post, are playful, funny, nimble and beautiful. The only downside I can add is that the fur makes you lazy, but what cat doesn’t have that? In fact, cats are incredibly affectionate and get used to their owners incredibly quickly. He always greets us, rejoices, kisses us, and when he doesn’t bother us for a long time and can bite us a little. I am definitely glad that we took Lila, she is our charming favorite.

I have always liked the Fold breed. And I decided to buy it. I bought this little fluffy ball (girl).

The kitten was wild. At first the cat looked smooth-haired, but with age she became fluffier. Smoky color. Long dense wool, like plush. curls between the hind legs.

The cat is obedient and responds to its name. He loves to play. Sometimes it’s so interesting that I can’t get enough of how interesting it is.

I found her with character. She really doesn’t like being picked up, she hides, during the day she sleeps freely wherever she wants on her back, but if you approach her, she runs away. But when she is in the mood, usually at night, she can not let you sleep and caresses her face to be stroked.

She is picky about food and doesn’t eat anything homemade. He eats dry food, from bags, and may eat some raw meat, chicken heads.

There are no problems with the toilet, she’s a great fellow, she goes outside and endures it at night.

It's a shame that the character is like this. And she would squeeze and squeeze.

I have almost the same story.

Kuma brought a fold-eared kitten into the house. My son immediately fell in love with him. When I told my godmother “take him back”, I heard from my son “Mom, no”! There was no choice but to leave him!

I really didn’t like this cat, but over time I fell in love with him. The very first thing I liked about him was his ears, which are so cutely curled! This is how Caesar has been living with us for almost 2 years!

I completely agree – Scottish Folds are love at first sight!

They gave me a kitten, at first I was worried how he would get along with children, or children with him
